Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
MATE IF I WERE YOU ID LEAVE THE DOOR STRIPS JUST COLOUR CODE THEM! LOOKS AS GOOD , PROTECTS THE DOORS AND IS ALOT LESS WORK!! ON A 1.4 IT IS HARD TO SQUEEZE ALOT MORE POWER FROM THE SMALL ENGINE. BUT IF YOU HAVE SOME SPARE CASH THEN GET AN ENCLOSED AIR FILTER, A FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM CHANGE THE CAM, REMAP ECU. THAT LOT SHOULD SEE ABOUT 20-25 BHP DEPENDING ON THE ENGINE. DONT GO FOR WHEELS OVER 16" IT WILL HANDLE LIKE SHIT ALSO GET IT LOWERED AND STIFFENED SPRINGS ALONE ARE A WASTE OF TIME.
DOES NOT PLAY NICE WITH OTHERS!

Ya 15'' is a good size for this car and you have a lot of choice in wheels. Plus tyres are cheaper to.

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
Rosethorn:It's nippier than it looks, i got 110mph out of it a little while ago. ok, so i'll start with the new wheels, then add in an induction kit and replacement element. Anyone recommend a cost-effective induction kit? =[ Nathan
IF YE GOING TO DO THEM SORT OF SPEEDS LAD I HOPE ITS ON THE TRACK. EXPERIENCED DRIVERS CAN HAVE BAD LUCK AT THOSE SPEEDS NEVER MIND THE NEW ONES. JUST BE CARFUL. JUST BECAUSE THE CAR WILL DO 110 IT DONT MEN IT CAN HANDLE IT.

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
hes right i hit 100mph in my mg zs 180 got cought by a pig then tried to get through a red light lets just say i stopped in 5meters an the car was a little bit broken i was lucky to be alive
also if you want my advice id sort out your stereo first buy an fit a really decent install dvd player the lot by the time you have sorted that out you'll be bored wit your car an you can get a beta one an just move the ice over then start body modz but if your planning on keeping your motor for a while id start off with alloys exhaust duction.

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
just an update to let you all know my personal pain, my insurance went from £1200 to £3800 when i changed the licence from provisional to full. don't suppose anyone knows any ways to bring my insurance down, excluding the old named driver route? oh and as a further update, my cv joints disintegrated whilst driving sunday =[ my car needs medics.

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
is it registered in your name. i'm in a 2.0 motor which is shown as me sister's car, she owns it (apparently)
go with someone like quinn as a named driver where ya get ya own no claims anyway. that's what i did. i've had a full license less than a year and pay 450 quid and get me own no claims too :P so for me it's ok. that's all i'd say or look on confused.com, get prices and go for the cheapest. tell them it's parked in a garage, left in a locked car park and has a alarm/immobiliser built in and it SHOULD bring the price down a bit

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
i am with quinn, and it's only 300 quid cheaper to go named driver. =[ according to the insurance comp, it's so expensive because the camps elysees version of a clio was limited edition? and my age, location etc doesn't help. =[ also, i think i'll go murder some traffic wardens after today. he waited by my car until i was a minute late, and booked me!

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
what i'd do myself tho mate. is the car registered to you?
if so then sign it over to someone else who's got lots of no claims. i'll just nip off to find out about insurance forr u tho mate coz i don't think it'll make any difference if it's ltd edition or not unless it mod's performance?
hell what do i know tho. and good luck with the wardens. they ticketed me mum for parking in a disabled bay, with the badge up and tried to say it was a fucking loading bay

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees
didn't mean to be ungrateful my friend, thanks for the suggestions. I double checked with a few other insurers, it's because the car's limited. cheers guys.
