    UK Number Plate regulations?

Does anybody know what the law is on spacing number plates? and also using the black caps on screws.

I've seen a plate I want but It needs a little 'modification' to actually look how I want it.

The biggest part is using 1 + J to make U i need to push them closer together.

I don`t reckon you can use black caps legally unless of course you have a car that`s allowed to run silver letters on black like my Humber.I can use Bike size plates on the Fury & `vette,I was going to run them on the Chrysler 300 too but it`s not worth the ag even tho not all the cops know the rules.....If you get stopped by VOSA they"ll know OK.

This company makes all types of plates for all vehicles, they know the regulations too

Fucking about with the spacing on your number plates is a massive no no, as is using black screw caps to make lettering appear different!!

I think the main reason is because Mr plods anpr cameras get a false reading!!

Yeh i recently had to look into this for my bike, i think its something like 17 mm spacing, and they are tough on it. TBH spacing is the main thing they look for.

Don't waste your money!  The police don't take any crap especially now that they've got ANPR cameras they've got the perfect excuse to nick you if you've fucked about with you're plates.

I was reading between the lines on ACE & as I see it without even being stopped by the Police or Vospa the DVLA can take your plate away just by using the various Cameras that are around
