Bought some rear shelf speakers today, does anyone have any tips on how to fit them? I'd rather do myself then pay someone else to do it, i like the challenge. Anyone done this before?

are you just gonna chuck them into the standard shelf or have you invested in a stealth shelf to stop pikey's nicking them?

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

i have extremely limited fundage atm, so i'm gonna settle for making my own shelf, with the added benefit of throwing a jacket or somethin on the back shelf when i'm not in the car.

i know what you mean by that lol.

use the cardboard cut out you get with the speakers or cut round the speaker, cut this bit out then screw the speaker directly into the parcel shelf and that shud do it as long as ya parcel shelf is strong enuff obv

yeah ur head unit should have a sticker of the wiring diagram underneath it. This should tell u the wires for the speakers if not look on the net for the wiring diagram

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

ok, having spent a good hour today rifleing through me dads tools, i've located a Torx set, so i  can get started removing things from the clio. This means, as of this weekend, i'll be replacing the front speakers, and installing some sexy 6x9's onto the parcel shelf. I'm also gonna be wiring up the interior neons as the switch came last week and i've found my soldering iron. Although (shock horror) i got to my car yesterday morning and someone had shunted me (CUNT), so now my tailgate trim is smashed to shit, no other visible damage, so looks like i'll have to smooth the tailgate too.

Plan for the tailgate is to remove the smokey black trim, de-badge everything except the clio badge, colour code the lot then t-cut and clean the paintwork. i've also nicked the 16V from my grandads vectra, and am debating whether to wack that on aswell. Opinions?

    A few questions then...

What's the best way to get the paintwork clean and shiny? Aside from soap and water.

What's the best way to cover the holes left by the Renault badge?

and lastly, is there anyway i can improve the hideous rear-wiper? aside from removing it..

    Nathan

which badge are you tlking about? if it's the one on the back it may or may not have holes, the prim didn't on the back but did on the front so i've left it alone lol, as for other questions i don't have a clue otherwise mate, have fun with the rest of it tho, too bad on the shunt mate, went to my motor the other day and found some dickhead had keyed down the left side so i'm not having much luck either
