lol Id pay to see that. what year impala? I hate the majority of american cars that r not carb'd because thats the only thing we did right in my mind. we made 2 ton beasts run a 13 1/4mile on an auto trans (70's GSX and GSX stage1 455) but the instant that fuel injection made its place all the us market did was make shit boxes (AMC comes in stage right).

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

88 i think? fuel injection rocks! a car in my team runs 13 sec quarters. a honda ek4 on a b16a2. all im saying is that a 1600cc i4 in a propperly sorted standard chassis is a more capable machine like for like than american machines.

hopefully the ek4 should be going for a b20 head with t3/4 hybrid or t25 power and megasquirt ecu. and my primera (infiniti g20 to you mate) should be going for a sr20ve ( NEO 'VVL) so should be running 205bhp with a 9000 rpm limit.

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

hell ya man. I like fuel injected but like I said, my personal belief is we (USA) only had good cars in the dino age lol. 2 weeks ago I was at the drag strip and it was test and tune day. there was a 96 civic hatch that was bronze and caged, had a drop an nothing flashy up against a big block roaring chevy camaro I think 69. the tree turned green and by the time the announcer said "yes ladies and gents that is a honda!" he crossed the line leavin the maro eat'n shit. that hatch had a turbo K20 (idk the specifics cause I couldnt find the guy to talk) and it ran a low 10 1/4 compared to the maro's mid 11. I myslef will take my hondas over old school personally. love my old school hondas lol by old school hondas I mean early 90's. Been tryin to find sum EDM parts for 90-93 accords but no1 ships over here it seems like. Also with my preference thusly I'm building a turbo h23vtec motor over sum big block gas guzzlin beast lol

That is sexy, very beutiful build and car. I like the H22 but wanted a little lower end torque so bored it out slightly and stroked it up. my power goal is 550hp and am looking at puting it in a 90-93 accord wagon. only thing I'm stumbling on right now is injectors. worried about getting enough fuel but have  sum room incase I want to up my goal. I know when I get the 550hp I'm gona want more most likely because thats how I am. A guy I met at a meet in indiana had a 95 accord turbo h22 putting 630hp to the wheels(had dyno sheet with him) it was crazy fast.hitting 10 seond 1/4's on slicks. loven the H and F motors :)

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

mate go for 750cc injectors and put a 5th at the front of the inlet... no more fuel worries. accord wagons rock mate goota see some pics asap! i tell you what though, when i comes to tuning h22 and f20c engines, you yanks know how to get big power. we have a 1000bhp (flywheel) ep3 civic that runs 10 sec quarters, its just putting that much power down through the fronts it really hard.

are you going to be runnung nitrous oxide too? you will need to cross brace the underside of the car, the chassis flex will be immense! im not to sure but doesnt the accord estate have a beam axle at the rear? if so make sure the dampers are hard as fuck as you want to minimise rear squat.

PICS, PICS,PICS please! this car sounds like a winner!

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

lol no the rear is all independant. I was thinking about doing exactly that by using sum RC750's and just make a plate with a bung between the plenum and the TB. I'm not big on nitrous but am really debating a low shot since the whole thought of an anti-lag system is going down, figure just get a 50 shot for when I need it and I'm good. will try to get pics asap, I'm in the transaction of selling my GSR and getting sum more money for the project. I am definately going to have to brace the fuck out of it and am looking at making sum braces of my own on the under carriage since not very many places make braces for the 90-93 accords in the first place.

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

American cars are BEST and the longest lasting cars and trucks built there are millions of 1950s,'60s and '70s American cars in daily use. You're lucky if a Jap car lasts 10 years without rusting badly(a 15 year old Jap car is a real rarity unless it was used sparingly on Japans unsalted roads),the Jap engines are bullet proof though, but don't quite sound as good as a V8.

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

pfft. cars rust full stop! jap, american, french etc... japan do salt the roads as the climate is very similar to ours. japan have made some of the best all round cars in the world.

    deny that?

all v8's are good for is drinking fuel... at £1.10 a litre... no fucking thanks!

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

Yeah ya right.....Being a car Guru you are always going to be right..even about things you`ve had no experence of..Ha Ha !

The vette falls in love with most fuel stations but who cares at 21 mpg round town......still no cart springs either.

The Monaro which I`m putting up for sale as soon as the Chrysler arrives in August is a small block V8......162mph max...does 24 mpg & will cruise at 90mph with the engine ticking over at 1800rpm.............still no cart springs either.

But you do of course already know all these details don`t ya Mr Car Guru
