Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

I never once and to my knowledge no-one else has ever said that ALL american cars are like that, just the very vast majority

but then again just like most people I know who like yank tanks, you seem like a very small minded prick. You all seem to have this tunnel vision thing going on where you think that American cars are amazing but in reality most modern european and japanese cars would run rings around anything america could put in front of them

hate to say it cause of me being in oo-suh but its the truth. thusly I have never owned an american car other than my truck which is a work horse. also it is "horse and buggy" principles. my cb7 accord can out run my buddies lt1 camaro on turns. also we do have some turns lol like the "dragons tale" in the mountains of west virginia

Well,it`s not me that has the tunnel vision....The kensai (Car Guru) laid down comments with out knowing what he`s talking about, having never owned or indeed driven an American Car...Despite being challenged to back up his statements he has failed at every turn but does appear to be very good at name calling & threatening violence..So far you`ve only managed name calling.

I`m sure you will agree that if  your gonna compare cars you have to compare like with like .

Over the years I`ve had many cars,A lot as Brand new company cars, many as daily drivers & a lot as Custom/Rods/Mods whatever.

At the moment I`ve got an 18 month old Monaro as a company car (changing shortly)& I`m lucky in having in the barn a 1968 C body 440 Fury,1979 Corvette 350 /blower,1962 Consul Capri,1957 VW Beetle, and a 1962 Humber Hawk V8,1963 Alvis Grey Lady TD21.At my house in the States I`ve got a 2 year old Mustang & a Texas Sports Car

The Jap cars I`ve owned are Datzun 240z , Lexus, Subby Forester. all from different dates........The drive quality of the 240z is like a 2.8 Capri,(Hard)The Lexus is just a Merc / BMW copy & the Subby we had for a while till her Range Rover turned up.

I`ve also managed to drive most of them as it always seem to be a Jap that I`m given at the Airport when I`m renting.

So then,Tell us what you drive as a company car, your daily & your projects

    Jap Rod eh !

I get Old Skool Rodz magazine & there`s always a report from some Rod show in Japan. They`re into the Rat look & anything pre 1940.

As fo the Chrysler 300,that`s what my new company car will be,hope to get it end of August when I get back from Houston.Bentley ownes hate `em because they can look the same but mucho cheaper

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

I'v only been driving 2 years and in that time I'v had a puegeot 406 1.8, a mk3 golf driver 1.8, a porsche 924 2ltr, a mitsibushi carisma 1.8, a BMW 320i, a vauxhall calibra, 2ltr 8v, and currently a nissan Almera gti 2ltr, but from the sounds of it your quite a bit older than me (I'd say at least in your mid to late 40's) so you have quite an age advantage so your bound to have driven plenty more cars than me, yet my father (claymore) has also had plenty more cars and as far as I'm concerned if he says American cars are crap then I'm inclined to agree.

Running 7 different cars in only 2 years.I bet your insurance company loved you,Most of the peeps on here couldn`t even get insurance for some of those ! Yeah your right I`m a lot older that you, even older that your Dad,.............................My first Modded/Custom whatever was the Engine & box out of an MGB I wrecked into an Austin A40 Farina street sleeper stylee

Sounds like your Dad has had a bad experience of USA cars......What cars were they ? ....If you buy the wrong ones they are going to be shitters anyway !

Re: Which American Car is the most Trustworthy?

I'M 21, i've been driving a year and a bit, i've driven 4 cars, me mum's citroen c3 1.4, me mum's renault clio 1.5 Dci and my other 2 cars, a rover 216 SLi and my current primera 2.0 16v. all of the cars i've used haven't been bad but they all move reasonably quickly which isn't the reason i got them or driven them, the rover and the primera ain't much to look at and yeah they've been quite slow in a straight line but round bends they're bloody great fun to drive. so if american cars are as much fun round bends then i'm sure they're great coz in a straight line they're not too bad but from the reviews i've read or even seen they're shit round bends so i would NEVER get one. if i won the lottery and got could buy anything i'd buy something like a HONDA NSX or something like that. so in my opinion

nsx ftw.. although it has to be the NA2 type r!

like southernracer says, the primera is one of the best handling saloon/5dr hatch cars about, with double wishbone multi-link suspension and disk brakes all round. and why do you think mini cab drivers love them cock wipe? big boot, big fuel tank, economical, comfortable, electric eveything and by far one of the most relialbe cars on the road. and the sri/ gt models aint bad to look at either. when i get my sr20det ill happy show you that your muscle is a poor performer. lets say a race from john o' groats to lands end? i know mine wont have any problems and wont kill my wallet on fuel. last one theres a big headded cunt...

    flamer:

    Hi Mr B,

The poor kids all messed up over Jap cars,Ha Ha.........Little does he know, but his particular car was designed in England by people from the USA & England at Cranfield. The steel is German with pressings by Ogihara,a UK USA owned company, interior by Johnson Controls in Sunderland etc etc & then the total assmebly by Geordie Lads working for a French man. Some models are sold for export & even to Japan. So,at the end of the day it`s not very Jap after all ! Just a car aimed at the European market that has become the favourite of Mini Cab drivers in its last days.

I reckon that if you want a real Jap car you need to go to Japan & buy in their home market a car that is too Jap lifestylee.

I believe that you stated that some jap cars, use parts that where designed by people from the USA, so if thats the caase why cant they put this to use in their own cars. so read what you put yourself before you go on about me whittering on you stupid twat

the primera was designed in japan as a predecessor to the u12 bluebrd. this guy flamer is a tit who spends too much time on wikipedia. team nissan for the mother fucking win! oh and flamer, seeing as im only 21 and have learned everything myself about cars and not sat reading the car brochures like yourself, i rate myself as a verry knowledgeable person. i thank my dad for getting me into japanese cars. i remember him having a u12 bluebird turbo and i loved it at the age of 4. i helped him with his tools when he was fitting a volvo intercooler and when he put a t25 turbo on the old gal. i had pics of the nissan mid-4 prototype on my walls at 5years old and as well as an r32 gtr. ive been involved with cars for nearly 18 years now. my bookshelves are filled with nissan books and i have a collection of rare nissan/datsun sales posters from the 1960's onwards.
