Why Build a Car For a Magazine Feature...??

Okay this is very simple guys and gals and the title explains it all really.

But my Question is why build a car purely for a magazine feature!?!?

Its seem to be getting more the thing these days that to many people purely build they cars to get noticed by a mag been fast car, golf+ etc But why? People seem to build they cars asking and trying to get noticed by the mags just to get there car in, would it not be more of a sense of achievement to be asked "If we can feature your car" not going about looking emailing and hassling the mags for one.

I must admit I used to think what can I do to get my car featured but then realized that im then building a car for someone else and not myself. Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t turn one down if asked because it’s like a award but I wouldn’t go about building my car around the scene purely because I want a feature.

So what are your thought, what do you think..?? Are you a modifier that builds a car for a feature or do you build it for yourself....Honest answer please! Big Smile

We don't promote this, its just what people seem to think we want. We always get asked what do I need to do to get a feature.

We always just say build a car for yourself, if you get a feature its a bonus. But for some people its something they aspire to.

Re: Why Build a Car For a Magazine Feature...??

Yeah i no, its what make them so much more unique if its built for yourself. It just seems more these days that people build a nice car try or get offered a feature then sell it on then go for another, id luv to see more people take that car and transform it again.

I no a lad who turned down a front cover feature because he built it for himself then sold the car and the new owner took the feature and "As ive heard lol" blags about his car Hmm You will no the car the blue mk3 golf on golf+ stand @ UD, stunning car and the work gone into it.

Id like to see how many people own up to building a car to get a feature, im sure you lot already get pestered from enough peeps after a feature lol Oh ye whens my feature Wink Jokin lol

But why, why build your car just to get a magazine feature and to the style that is popular at the time, It would make more sense to make it individual by building it for yourself and achieve something instead of building it for someone else. Its understandable if you own a company and someone pays you to do them a build, but if you build it with the pure intentions to get a feature then you are building it to how someone else wants the car to look to get in there magazine. Do you not have enough creative flare to build something for yourself? We all take ideas from all sections of the modifying world and blend them together to create a masterpiece.

I have nothing against a magazine features and seeing what’s happening on that car, but why build and then go looking and asking "What do I have to do to get a feature" Its like you carnt do it for yourself and have to be told how to do it, to get a feature etc and people pestering mags with emails etc asking for a feature just bugs me lol Its nothing against yourself but more why... Big Smile I’m now off to machine polish my car so it mite get noticed tonight Wink Joking im off to play with my stupidly expensive new toy lol hehe
