    Hot Rod Power Tour '07

I read another magazine called Hot Rod and noticed this year their Hot Rod Power Tour Cruise was going to be the closest to my home that it's been in years.  This summer I drove from Holland Michigan to Ohio for the weekend to get away and see multiple classical and muscle or modified cars.  Stayed with a buddy in Columbus Ohio then drove to Cleveland Ohio to the IX Center where the Power Tour Event was being held.  Once on site I parked amongst at least 300 other cars participating in the Power Tour.  I signed up for the whole tour, but only planned on doing the first leg of the tour.  At the International Exposition (IX) Center they had some girls, product booths and were showcasing new cars like the '08 Camaro.  A Portable Dyno tester was on hand to let drivers on tour see how many horsies and torque thier rides were making.  I didn't run on the Dyno, but I did collect some free stuff and take a few pictures.  I only had my cell phone for pics.  On my way back to my buddy's house in Columbus from Cleveland my engine blew up and left me to get a ride from my buddy back to his place, then eventually back home.  I went back out to Cleveland with another friend to get my car and trailer it back home.  It was a pain, but a good experience just the same.  Good advice is to have your car fully checked out and maintenanced before taking it on a decent size trip or cruise.  My engine was replaced for free because it was under warranty and they couldn't understand why it failed.  They said it was "catastophic failure."  I got a new egine block and inards out of the deal, so no complaints here!  Car runs great and just finished a longer cruise recently 3 times as far from Holland Michigan to Roanoke Virginia.  No problems!
