My ICE over the next year.

Inside my 2000 Dodge Intrepid I already have a 7" In dash Jensen DVD flip up screen with two 8" Headrest monitors and a reverse camera for the in dash.  For sound I have Component fronts and 2 way rears by Blauwpunkt.  I already have aquired an 8 Farad Capacitor by Kole Audio and RCA cord for future Audio use.  I have a large 12" diameter Tube for a pair of 12' Subs once I have picked up some.  I may also install a Cobra Hand set CB (citizen band) radio with antenna once I have the vehicle finished further for trips down the interstate highways / freeways.  I still need a larger fuse kit and perhaps a better battery for power distribution.  A 5 channel amp will power the subs and the interior speakers eventually with a sub remote.  I see some people put more speakers and a screen in thier trunk so they can tailgate and have fun, but I don't really tailgate, so not for me.  Perhaps a light kit for my interior for ambient lighting for that theatre feel?  I have pics of my car on my reader ride post, so feel free to check it out.  Not everything is installed or shown. Happy holidays.  -Tony

Re: specs : 2000 Dodge Intrepid Base Model

To tell you the truth kensai86 and lazlow, even the R/T sport models only had a 3.8 Liter V6.  Cars like the Dodge Charger 4 door sedan start with a V6 base model and have the V8 HEMI for the SRT8 edition. A few of those even carry All Wheel Drive (AWD) capabilities as an option. Dodge also carries a smaller wagon style vehicle called the Caliber that takes the straight 4 cylinder and applies a turbo to it, calling it an SRT4.  In a few years I will invest in a remotely located turbo by Squire Turbo Systems (STS) most likely giving me power closer to 300 hp.  Maybe at that time I will badge my car an SRT6?  For now I worry about replacing my front bumper cover with the premium model that houses fog lights.  The ICE though in my car will be added onto sometime in the near future.

Re: specs : 2000 Dodge Intrepid Base Model

My Intrepid affectionately badged "TR3" (My Initials and the shift I work) is a FF (Front engine, Front wheel drive).  I do plan on giving it a slight lower and stabilizer bar for added cornering ability, but it is already a good handling car b/c it is so wide.  I may try and relocate the E-Brake so I have a handle instead of a pedal  that locks into place.  We'll see if that can be designed for my car.  Not a must have of course.  This is my 21st car, how many cars have you guys owned / driven?  -Tony

Re: specs : 2000 Dodge Intrepid Base Model

My reply later than never is that my Intrepid is a Front Wheel Drive.  I have recently snagged a 2nd Intrepid in a Forest Green Color that I will do up and post eventually on here.  My Fiance, soon to be wife in a year will be driving my white InTR3pid while I give the green one a name.  Until next time!  -Tony

Re: My ICE over the next year.

    Hi ,

          sounds good mate !!!!

why not sell the kole capacitor and use the proceeds to fund a proper battery like an Optima ?

The capacitor is way over the top for a single 5 ch needs and you will probably end up loosing power rather than gaining any !!

I only use caps in AV and multimedia systems as any other use seem pointless.

A rough guide on power caps would be 1 farad for 1000w RMS amp power.

Re: My ICE over the next year.

Well, the nice thing is that I actually would have the Kole Capacitor running not just the Amp, but the Multimedia part as well.  I'll more than likely set it up in between a fuse block and the battery itself.  Since my car has just a regular alternator.  It will also power a CB unit and possibly underbody lights.  Hence why I think it is worth keeping the Kole Cap for later installs once I get to them.  I will use it in my green Intrepid instead of my white Intrepid.  My fiance` is getting my white Intrepid once I get the green one up and running...but that may occur after we're married.  -Tony

Re: My ICE over the next year.

Fair comment and i would agree with your methods.

Since the power cap really only applies to the voltage side of things why not look into having your own alternator custom wound using your own casing ?

Pretty cheap and this will supply all the extra ampage.

Replace all factory earth straps for 4 gauge and replace the alternator wires for the same to ensure maximum current flow.

    All the best
