    traders insurance

been reading through a few of your posts about the cost of insurance and the most common question of are you covered with mods, i'm self employed in the trade and i've had motor traders insurance for years. it's only about £250 a year comp, but then i'm 32 ! you are covered to drive any vehicle you own, any vehicle in your custody or control and such like, there are some rules though, obviously you're meant to be in the trade but theres nothing stopping you buying and selling a few cheapies to fund your project car is there ? you have to inform them of any cars you're keeping beyond 7 days so they can go onto the database, and in the event of any claim you'll only be offered trade price for your car. make sure you get sdp added on aswell or you're not covered for anything other than trade use which will be during normal working hours. on the up side though you can drive any car at all and you're covered, i've had cossie's, bm 7 series, merc s-classes, on mine no problems even imports are fine, the only exception seems to be anything over 20 years old !  i've declared modifieds and group 20 cars to em and they're no problem at all. remember any cars you dont declare wont be on the database and the old bill can seize them with the anpr ! i keep my certificate in the car just for that reason ! so get an autotrader and ring a few up for a quote !
