Unfortunately i think you are a bit stuck there. Personally i would use a insurance comparison site like confused.com so that i could find the cheapest car insurance quote.

 Once you have done this its basically a case of going through them on the phone declaring the mods. Theoretically they would still be the cheapest.

Places like More than and tesco finance for example are great until you do anything to the car.

Im assuming from the insurance quote that youve got probably got a 1380 engine in there... Am i right?
If not...... say youve got a 1275 or something. Just get a quote for it as a modified model of whatever engine you own :P
if you have a 998cc mini mayfair with an avonbar 1380 engine they arent going to be happy with that.. hence the big quote. But if you had a 998cc mayfair that had a cooper engine.. then you could say it was a cooper. As the stripes are there.... and theres no model badge :P

IMO don't use comparison sites becuase most of them will come up with 'cannot provide insurance for modified vehicles' or some bullcrap like that. I say just sit down with a pen and paper...ring up all the specialist insurances like 'mymotorquote.com and 'menonlyinsurance.co.uk'...declare ALL mods and get a quote...jot it down and do this for several until you get what you want...

so basically your doing all the hard work yourself! the good old fashioned way! sounds stupid and lame but its the best way to go about it for us modders. Them stupid twats in the insurance industry don't understand the modding philosophy that is: 'we mods our cars so therefore we are more likely to look after them'...including my dad! He's MD of 'comparethemarket.com' and he doesn't get me. But if you do decide to use a comparison site be sure to use 'comparethemarket' ;-)

you know whats funny about that?? you can actually get trees insured lol. so if you hit someone's tree thats insured you have to pay for a new one. and not just a little seed. you full fucking tree and the transport/planting costs. that could be a lot of money!! bet their insurance is still fucking cheaper then ours !!! so moral of the story: don't crash you car into trees or at least if you do...make it a sapling. not that we would anyway?!
