    Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

Ok, this is my first car, i'm 17 and got it for my birthday.

Now, you are probably already thinking, wow, lil kid with a toy car who isn't serious about shit.

that's cool, if i'm honest, i don't know a whole lot about cars, but, my dad used to modify cars and such and he thinks i can't do it. Now, i'm kind of turning this into a challenge to myself to prove to him that i'm serious and i can succeed in things.

I'm fairly handy with most tools, thought probably not nearly experienced enough to start anything major alone. So, i'd like some advice o some ideas i have. If they're shit, tell me, advise me on alternatives, but please don't rant at me. :o)

I'm thinking about removing all side trims, you know the shitty little pieces of grey plastic that make my car look like a toy. So i can remove them, fill the contours it will leave behind, file it smooth and then paint. Can anyone advise on painting technique for cars?

I also want new alloys and tyres, because at the moment, they look shit. Now, i'm nowhere near experience enough to do this myself so i'll be taking the car to a garage for them to fit, but any advice on what spec wheels and alloys etc would be greatly appreciated.

Now, i'm also sick to death of people taking the piss out of how 'boxy' my car looks, so does anyone have any ideas about how i can smooth it out and make it less square?

Thanks for any advice you can give, i'll keep checking the post for replies!

    Nathan

okay, been looking around and have decided that the best thing to do to start would be get some nice alloys, lower the car and have a nice exhaust. What do you think?

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

pretty much anyone on here knows their stuff, when they're not arguing lol

euro rims are small, wide wheels that fit with the euro style

so things like, the shmidt th, or ronal turbo, or any small bbs wheel will go with the style

but make sure that if you are after the euro style, everything has to be smoothed, and its the little details that count

like colour coding under the bonnet, stuff like that

What about lowering? If i go for 15" eurostyle rims, how much should i lower by?

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

id say just get some 35-40 mm lowering springs, and see if you like it

they're inexpensive so if you dont like them you can always get some lower ones

Re: Renault Clio, 1.4 Champs Elysees

well, you dont necessarily need to buy a dark wheel, you can always get it repainted at some point afterwards

how many spokes are you looking for?
