    Sweet Sounding Corsa

Hey, i'll soon be getting a 1.2 Corsa Sxi as my first car.

Basically i was wondering what i should get to make it sound the best it can and where i can get them fitted.

I think it's pretty obvious that i'm new to all this so any help you can give me is well apreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

hey mate. welcome to the scene of mods. as for noise i'd be inclined to say go for an induction kit if you want it to sound nice above about 3k rpm. if not then get a backbox or if not then i'd say get a total exhaust system. as for fitting it i'm not too smart with it but i've got a bro in the trade so he's useful lol. good luck mate

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

    Thanks

Is the back box just for noise? and an entire exhaust system for performance?

    (soz i'm new lol)

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

no worries mate. i'm not too sure on the modding scene either but hey we all gotta start sometime ain't we?

as for exhaust yeah i think it's if the backbox it's just a bit of noise but the whole exhaust or (cat back) exhaust will give you more of a kick when you put ya foot thru the floor. my car's only standard but it's a 2.0 so it kinda gets away with it lol.

i'd recommend the induction kit tho it'll use more fuel when you wanna hear it ya car's screaming. i wouldn't get a cheap 20 quid one tho coz they can sometimes do more harm than good. something to do with a cold air feed needed to help it work better (or so i'm led to believe)

there's MUCH better people on here to talk to about it tho mate so i'm sure they'll be more use than me but hope i helped somehow

the easiest thing would be to take a look at demon tweeks
ignorance is the root and stem of all evil

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

myself mate i'd have a snoop around on potn.co.uk. i find they're a bit cheaper generally than tweeks but look and compare by all means

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

    Ok Thanks

Is there any measurements that i have to take for the back box?

The last thing i want to do is end up with a useless part lol

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

no worries mate. the easiest thing to do is look on the net at same engines as you, i'm guessing the corsa you're getting'll be is gonna be a corsa C 00-06 reg? also just a idea is to take the 1.2 badge off the back but perhaps leave the corsa badge on. that's what i'd do anyway if it was mine lol

have a look on the net at company's who do exhausts for them and it should be a standard fit for them if that makes sense lol.

being honest tho corsa's are obviously quite common motors to mod so shouldn't be too hard.

one other thing i will say tho is don't get a universal fitting backbox tho coz A they sound shite and they need a shed load of welding to fit too. again. hope this helps mate. i'm not too clever tho with this so please forgive me if i'm a bit out with the info lol

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

yeh it is a corsa C 00-06 reg nd i think thts a pretty gud idea with the badge.

im thinking tht ill save up for abit longer and get a whole exhaust system. but first ill buy an induction kit tho.

ur advice is rly helping thanks

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

glad to be of use for once mate. as for the induction kit i'd go for a k and n 57i kit. made for the budget modder which means you can do more with the spare money lol. what colours the car gonna be?

as for the badge. the only reason i say about the 1.2 badge coming off a lot of people see a 1.2 badge and don't realise that's it been modded. or if not that then they see the 1.2 and still think it's slow. as for de-badging, have a look at the other post called de-badging, you'll see a pic of my old banger too lol

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

Yeh i dnt wanna b seen as a slow old granny lol.

yeh id luked at the k&n 57i. My cars gna be black so i was thinkin bout tinting the windows nd gettin black rims. Ino its abit ambitious money wise but i think itd luk pretty decent.

i luked at the post. uv got sum pretty nice rims on that yeh?

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

yeah me rims are ok, only 15's tho till i can afford the 17 inch wolfrace kendo's that i want tho lol

if it was my car i'd go for some clear repeaters on the side's make sure you get clear bulbs tho else it just looks daft in my book, tint the back windows completely out tho it makes it nearly impossible to see at night tho lol. as for the black rims i think it'll look good as long as you've got a silver strip around the rim if you know what i mean coz else it'll just look like a black blob in my book lol. at the end of the day tho it's your car you gotta do it your way mate i'd only go for 15's tho on the alloys tho cost wise and also coz any bigger you'll have to drop it on it's ass. like i've got to with mine lol

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

yeh ino wot u meen wit the black blob lol.

soz to sound like a complete idiot but wot u meen by clear repeaters?

    Re: Sweet Sounding Corsa

oops sorry should have explained. the side repeaters is just another way of saying the indicators on the side of the car, usually orange but sometimes silver already, clear repeaters are basically clear versions of the glass over the side indicator bulb. if you do get them tho make sure you've got the silver/clear bulbs tho else you get what's known as the fried egg look. basically this means the orange bulb stands out like a sore thumb.

    any better for you lol?
